SF Dental House of Mission District is a leading pediatric dental practice in San Francisco. Excellent oral health is important for the development of a child, and we are here to help in any way we can.
Children’s dentistry at SF Dental House in the Mission District of San Francisco deals with children from infants to adolescents. We promote the dental health of children, as also serve as an educational resource for parents. The AAP and the AAPD recommend that a dental visit should occur within six months of the child’s first birthday, or first tooth. The AAPD, or American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, states that it is very important for a dentist to establish a comprehensive, ongoing, and trustworthy relationship between the child and the dentist so that the child is able to see the dentist’s office as his or her dental home.
We aim to make the first visit of a child at our dental office Mission District enjoyable for both the child, as well as the parent. Here, your child should expect to meet one of his or her pediatric dentists who would review their medical history, and previous dental experiences. For younger patients, our dentists perform their pediatric dental examination in one of our consultation rooms with the parent being present.
At their visit, your child will receive a thorough dental exam, cleaning, topical fluoride application, and x-rays. Our pediatric dentists take extra precautions to limit exposing your child to X-Ray radiation unless it is absolutely necessary to do so.
Near the end of the visit, one of our pediatric dentists will consult with you privately to review your child’s progress, and what future treatments, if any, need to be undertaken, and when the next appointment should be made.
